Sometimes it happens when you work on localhost (but not only).
Please perform next step to prevent this issue:
1. Check if your scripts placed in a right directory (http or www).
2. Check settings of your server, to check if your server may recognize this file as .php file.
3. Check the code of your .htaccess file.
Try to run your application without this file: remove it, clear your browser's cache, and reboot your PC.
4. check you use <?php and not <?
(or simply go php.ini file look short_open_tag and remove ; if any and make it 'on' short_open_tag on)
