How to export to Excel to see danish characters ÆØÅ

Hello

When I export a table using the Excel (xls) all the danish characters like ÆØÅ are not shown correctly.

I have saved all data in the table in format UTF-8 and the datagrid also use UTF-8.

But still my Excel can't recognize the characters.

What can I do to make it work?

Also my danish excel will have ; as delimiter and not , - where can I change this to make the function export to CSV work?

Thanks for your help.

This is a common limitation of current versions of DataGrid:

Use CSV, then (after downloading), re-save it as xls:

Hello

Thank you for your answer.

That's a shame. I hoped in would work ind the new version. A lot of my users cand find out to export to CSV and change it to txt and then import to Excel.
I find it easy, but realize that it is difficult to many.

I think it will be solved if it was exported in the format "iso-8859-1" - instead of UTF-8, Can you tell me where I could change this in the code. Then I could try myself.

I would also like to change the delimiter to ; (semikolon) instead of , (comma) - where can I do this?

There is a common problem with exporting in XLS. Current wait it released - doesn't allow to export with UTF-8 characters.
Anyway, you may try , go to DataGrid.class.php, find there ExportToExcel() method and customize it according to your needs.

Let us know, if you find any solution.
