Re: Append Field Value to Filename

Hello, This is appending to a string, which works great! But can you also append a field value to the original uploaded filename? For example: The file uploaded is: myDoc.pdf I would like to save as myDoc_1234.pdf where "1234" is the value of another field. So I can retain the original fil...

Re: HOW TO work with composite Foreign Keys? (question)

Hello, Thanks for your response. I have tried using enum source=self and source = fill_from_array. But my list is in another table. I have 2 datagrids on one page and almost everything works. When I enable a foreign key in the master (edit mode), the secondary datagrid columns stop appearing (in vie...

Re: HOW TO work with composite Foreign Keys? (question)

Right... I understand that. Your documentation says it clearly. It is after the bind(); and still doesn't work. I tried what you had in the example "db=>$query..." and that didn't work or make sense syntactically. How else do I get a simple dropdown list from an existing column? I've tried...

HOW TO work with composite Foreign Keys? (question)

Hi, I was looking at this example and trying to get a simpler solution working. I understand the approach used. But calling $db->query("SELECT... seems to kill the page completely. I'm just trying to get a simple list from another table. Does the example show a completely different SQL SELECT t...

Re: View mode [link] to file. Can we use a static image?

Do you have another trick to show a link to the uploaded file in Edit and in Details modes? I can't seem to come up with a hack that can get a link to the file.

Thanks,
-Harry

Re: View mode [link] to file. Can we use a static image?

administrator wrote:"field_data" requires a field name, but you may do this trick with SELECt SQL.

Look here:

SELECT
....
.....
CONCAT('<img src=\"images/icon.gif\" />', field1) as my file_link
...........

Awesome! Thank you!

View mode [link] to file. Can we use a static image?

Hello, I'm building a management system for our datacenter and would like to be able to link to an uploaded pdf. The view mode will only display the name of the file. Can you show me how to get a pdf icon to display instead of the filename? Here is what I've got. $vm_columns = array( ... "serve...
