Re: Link fields are no longer opening with ThickBox

Now we are going back in time! This is exactly what I would like to do. Define a link to a different web page, and open it in an overlay like Thickbox (which seems to be old now) or Lightbox, etc. The Thickbox implemetation seems very straightforward but ... it requires the href to have a specific c...

Re: Multi Database Query

Re: Multi Database Query

I have already created a test project with two grids, with their own database settings and that works as expected. What I would really like to do would be to use a single grid to display the results of three separate (but identical) queries. Can the grid only display the results of a database query,...

Multi Database Query

I need to run the same query across three databases, on separate servers. I'm using MariaDB, and I can't use the Federated engine. Is it possible to run three queries, combine the datasets returned and pass this dataset to a single grid? I suppose I could use three grids, but I would prefer to use a...

Re: Connecting to Access 97 Database

Nope. I have given up for the moment. The MariaDB trick does work fine though.

Re: Connecting to Access 97 Database

Here's a workaround: use the MariaDB Connect engine. https://mariadb.com/kb/en/library/connect-odbc-table-type-accessing-tables-from-another-dbms/ It's not particularly fast, but it works and somehow translates the MariaDB dialect of SQL to the Access dialect. You can call stored queries in the Acce...

Re: Connecting to Access 97 Database

It seems to be where the SQL command SET character_set_client=utf8; is sent to the driver. It looks like this is not valid syntax for access. Try to disable or comment this command: Tried that. Then I got: Notice: Undefined variable: meta in C:\Web\Apache\htdocs\mpc_reportsCopy18Jan\datagrid\datagr...

Re: Connecting to Access 97 Database

Ok, so I have the latest version. There isn't much difference between that and the one I had, to be honest. Here is my PDO connection string: $DB_USER=''; $DB_PASS=''; $DB_HOST=''; $DB_NAME="D:/data.mdb"; $sql="select * from SOCList"; $default_order=""; $dgrid->DataSour...

Re: Connecting to Access 97 Database

I'd love to try 8.2.7, but my lifetime update says "Wait on Next Release".

I've requested the latest version.

Re: Connecting to Access 97 Database

OK, so this bit of code works: $database_name="D:\\xxx\\xxx\\xxx\\xxx\\xxx\\data.mdb"; try { $db = new PDO("odbc:DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; Dbq=$database_name ; username=; password=;"); $db ->setAttribute(PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE, PDO::ERRMODE_EXCEPTION); echo "Succe...
